@username First off, I am not a “Vine” reviewer. Not say there is anything wrong with the program but this was a purchase made by me.I have been in constant conversations with Beatbot on the need to update their firmware. Finally a new version dropped, and this thing is no longer getting stuck on the shelf edge and the weir flap has changed its operation to keep stuff it already trapped from getting out. They did this by changing the timing of the flap opening and closing as it speeds up and slows down as it approaches edges or sides of the pool.It still REALLY cleans the bottom well and now no longer having stalled jobs or having it report “floating” when it shouldn’t.This is a solid product and I have updated my rating to reflect that. @username This thing is great! It’s heavy so I suggest being able to plug it in by the pool and not have to carry it far. The only thing that would make it better is if it the battery life was longer for larger pools. I can’t use the skim feature because it dies before it has a chance (I live near trees so it gets dirty). I had one with a cord and I did like being able to leave it in to clean everyday vs taking it in and out. But this one with the AI feature does a better job at cleaning. It’s a little pricey but over all I’m happy with it.
@username .Disappointed. I was hoping the latest upgraded version would be better and worth keeping, especially with their new Ai features. I will provide more details soon. For now, I uploaded a video of the robot making its way down to clean the bottom of the pool. In the military, we call this a “low-drag”, the opposite of “high-speed”. This robot is a joke to any serious consumers with a pool. And it’s heavy. Yes, that’s subjective but it’s heavier than any other robot vacuum I’ve owned.**I absolutely do NOT recommend this product. I’m not against all robot pool vacuums. This brand just isn’t it, especially for the price we’re paying.
@username This Beatbot Aqua Sense 2 Ultra Pool Robotic Cleaner comes in a big box that at first seemed overwhelming however everything is well marked so setup was fairly easy especially with the well written manual. There's only 2 things to assemble. The rear stabilizers (legs) for the charging station (very easy) and 2 side brushes (probably not attached due to shipping of the product). We put the side brushes on as per the instructions however there was a package of screws labelled for the side brushes leftover (no mention of any screws required in the instructions) so I contacted customer service. I received a response in less than 24 hours stating that the screws are only extra parts. They also included an extra set of these brushes for future use.
You also need to install the water clarifying cartridge. I couldn't find replacement cartridges on Amazon.ca for this model but they do have them for the Pro model for $54.99 for 2 cartridges (note they don't fit this machine) but hopefully they will carry them for this newer model in the future. You can get them directly from the manufacturer for $49.99 US but that's a bit expensive for the Canadian consumer. Each cartridge will last for about a month if used weekly. The cartridge emits the solution automatically when on floor/bottom cleaning mode and also has an on/off button control for use as needed. The solution is a non toxic biodegradable formula using crushed sea shells too.
The filter basket is very easy to remove to clean and it's a double screened basket.
The best feature is the AI sensors and camera that allows the robot to "see" debris like leaves etc. Hopefully no more missed areas. This newer model also has additional brushes for cleaning.
Once everything is assembled we placed it on the charging station. It has a large pickup handle on one end. The station has a 6' power cord. The green charging light fades on/off when charging. It took a little over 3 hours for a full charge. All the charging lights go out when charging is complete.
It can be operated by the unit control panel or by a phone app. The main reason for using the app is for product updates and to set specific cleaning modes not offered on the unit panel.
The operation panel allows the selection of different cleaning modes depending on your needs. Running battery time is 3-4 hours (our current one only does 45 minutes and only the floor/bottom). This machine will do the walls and the waterline (bathtub like ring) too. Upon completing the pool cleaning it will surface and"park" by the pool side.
It then empties with an automatic drainage system so that it's not too heavy to lift out. They also included a pole hook if it's necessary to retrieve it if there's any issue.
They also included a heavy oxford fabric drawstring storage bag with a zippered side storage pocket.
The robot approximate dimensions are as follows: 11" high at the rear and 8" high at the front (it slopes) 15" wide and 17" from the top handle to the bottom. It has some weight to it as well.
It winter in Canada so unfortunately I will have to complete this review with a springtime update when we reopen our inground pool. I will adjust my rating if I'm not pleased with its operation.
The current price $4,758 Canadian does seem overwhelming and it is cheaper if purchased directly from the US manufacturer. The manufacturer list price is $2,799 in US dollars. Not sure why there's such a price difference.
Synopsis: I’ve tried plenty of automatic pool vacuums over the last 30 years, but I’ve never found one that truly does everything I need without extra hassles until, potentially, now. The Beatbot AquaSense 2 Ultra claims to handle steps, waterline, walls, floors, skimming, and water clarification all in one unit - basically everything you could want all in one unit, and systematically cleans so there’s not random missing spots or problem areas. Finally, something that actually seems capable of doing the full job, which is huge for someone who’s fed up with random cleaning patterns and missed spots. However, admittedly, it’s still winter, so I haven’t had the chance to actually test it in my own pool yet. I’ve only inspected it, read the spec sheet, and done a ton of research (including checking out prior Beatbot models. I’ve also used the pro model that a friend has and was impressed with it.As it is, this is my preliminary review which I will update after I’ve had a chance to test it fully. So, as it stands, I’ll cover what I like so far, what I’m a bit unsure about, and why I think it might still be worth the rather eye-popping price tag currently at $4758. I’ll give it a full test in the spring, and if it doesn’t blow me away, I’ll be sure to update my thoughts.I’ll start with the basics, then move on to performance features, some potential downsides, and my final preliminary impressions.Setup & First Impressions: The AquaSense 2 Ultra looks pretty cool and sleek despite. However, it is pretty heavy, weighing in at just over 13kg. It’s cordless and has a big 13,400 mAh battery. It takes about 4.5 hurs to charge, and run times varies depending on the task - up to 10 hours if it’s mostly surface-skimming, or around 4.5 hours on a full floor-cleaning or wall cycle. This should be ample for most pools. Beatbot suggests that the battery should be capable of cleaning 320 square meters (3,444 square feet) pools in a single cycle. It’s also capable of operating up to 9.84 feet deep.One thing I really like right off the bat, apart from all the technology in this thing, is the “surface parking” and “one-touch app retrieval” feature. Once it’s done cleaning (or if the battery runs low), it automatically floats over to a designated spot near the water’s edge. This is super convenient and means I won’t have to fish around with a hook and haul up a waterlogged machine from the deep end, which is a pain that I’ve often had to do with other auto cleaners I’ve tried. It’s may seem like a small detail, but it’s definitely a friction point, which should save me time and frustration.Performance & Features: Even though I haven’t tested it in my own pool, I’ve delved pretty deeply into what the AquaSense 2 Ultra promises, and am basing it on my experiences with the pro model which is similar, albeit not as advanced as the ultra. The ultra’s got a 5-in-1 cleaning system (water surface, waterline, floor, walls, and water clarification). According to Beatbot, the device uses a combination of AI cameras, ultrasonic sensors, and infrared detection (HybridSense AI Pool Mapping) to actually map your pool, detect leftover debris, and systematically clean every inch. I’ve had past cleaners I’ve owned that just sort of wandered randomly until time was up, leaving me to manually clean the missing and problem spots. This would require me to pull out the vacuum, etc.. and really detracted from the whole ‘automatic’ feature. The Beatbot Ultrat should in theory, “learn” my pool and plan its route, and cleaner the whole poolI’m intrigued, and a little skeptical, of the dual side brushes, which are supposed to help funnel floating debris or gunk at the edges into the main suction path. This is something that I find some robotic cleaners struggle with, and in theory should help this one out a bit (we’ll see) though in truth i’m less concerned with surface skimming.It also has a clarifier system (ClearWater™) which is handy but not that economical. The idea is that it releases small amounts of eco-friendly clarifying agents to clump finer particles, which the filter then traps. If you live somewhere with a lot of fine dust and debris blowing into the pool, that could really help improve the water quality. That said, the drawback is the cost. You can buy a bottle clarifier that will last several seasons for a fraction of the price of the beatbot clarifier cartridge. That said, it may be worth it for those looking for the true all in one solution.Price & Value: At $4758, it’s undeniably in the premium range. But if it legitimately does the complete bottom, sides, steps and waterline scrubbing, as well as surface skimming, that might well be worth the investment—especially if you factor in your time and/or the cost of a pool service over the long haul. If you’re someone who might only want basic floor cleaning, you can find cheaper alternatives, but you’ll have to supplement them.
